Over-Design Methodology for Operating Voltage Minimization
DescriptionPower is one of the most important parameters of electronic devices. Although there are various technologies for lower power design, it is critical to lower voltage because it reduces dynamic power quadratically. So we propose over-design methodology for operating voltage minimization. We propose a new low power technique can reduce dynamic power by reducing the supply voltage as low as possible, satisfying target performance. We observe that the proposed methodology could reduce dynamic power by 15.87/18.71% with industry 5/4nm designs, respectively.
