Hardware and Software Technologies continue to advance, in close collaboration
DescriptionTo continue the advancement of the semiconductor, hardware and software technologists need to work and innovate together. This session focuses on the progress in that that collaborative research space. The first talk describes a notional system architecture and a cross-cutting approach connecting innovations in compute algorithm, chip architecture, and system software. The second talk is about finding post-Silicon issues in the pre-silicon validation phase that will shorten the software bring-up time on Silicon. The speaker will talk about first deconstructing the problem in the user domain and then constructing the solution in the EDA domain. Focus of the third talk is on a new agile methodology for co-designing programmable hardware accelerators and compilers. This methodology employs a combination of new programming languages and formal methods to automatically generate the accelerator hardware and its compiler from a single source of truth.
