High-Level Synthesis: Now is the time or will it continue to remain just a promising technology?
DescriptionToday's state of the art designers are taking a close look at the High-Level synthesis (HLS) technology. With the advent of new process nodes, complexity of the design, and faster time-to-market for large SOCs, HLS is getting another chance to become part of the primary design methodology.

In the past 30 years, there was a technological push to make HLS mainstream. However, those attempts were not very successful, and hardware companies continued to rely on the RTL-based design-entry methodology. As a result, HLS always remained as the promising technology that will be deployed everywhere, only in future.

In this panel, the experts will debate whether now is the time of HLS or not. While nobody discards the technological advancement of High-Level synthesis, the debate will be primarily centered around whether HLS will continue to remain as the promising kid, that did not deliver to the expectation or hype.
