Fault Injection in Native Logic-in-Memory Computation on Neuromorphic Hardware
DescriptionMemristive crossbar structures promise to solve the eminent von Neumann bottleneck by facilitating computing- in-memory (CIM). This paradigm executes operations directly in the memory, drastically improving performance and energy efficiency. One flavor of CIM, logic-in-memory (LIM), describes the execution of logic gates within these novel memory structures. Utilizing only binary values, LIM omits the usage of expensive ADCs/DACs and proves to be more robust in dealing with its non- idealities. Especially binary neural networks (BNNs) can benefit from this massive execution of parallel logic operations, shifting it in the focus of edge applications.
