Quixote: Improving Fidelity of Quantum Program by Independent Execution of Controlled Gates
DescriptionNISQ (noisy intermediate-scale quantum) computers are vulnerable to errors. It can output incorrect results more frequently than correct ones due to accumulated errors. We note that quantum states do not change in certain areas (e.g., control qubit of a series of CNOT operations) when the quantum circuit is processed. Quixote (quantum independent execution architecture) executes by separating the gates in such areas into independent subcircuits. Each subcircuit is less affected by operation errors and crosstalk because it has fewer qubits and gates than the original circuit. Quixote improves the fidelity of the benchmark circuits by 2.04× on IBM quantum machines.
